The image shows the interior of a giant clam (Tridacna). The opening in the centre is the siphon, which is used for filtering water and feeding.
Two magnificent giant clams lie embedded in a colourful coral reef, surrounded by vivid red and violet soft corals. The characteristic wavy shell edges of the Tridacna are clearly recognisable while the reef shows an impressive diversity of hard and soft corals.
